Welcome to our new website, and hopefully you will take the time to learn about our newest endeavor and sign our guestbook.  Our peers expressed so much interest in our building of a Hampshire program that propelled us to expand this idea!  Hurricane Hamps has been built upon the genetics of Richard Crome, Dennis Gaston, and other top breeders in the U.S. by utilizing elite breeding stock- and practical livestock knowledge.  The next time you are in search of your next Hampshire addition, whether it is for breeding, showing, or anything else- give Hurricane Hamps a call; and we will blow in for the rescue.  Today, we can compile an endless list of State, National, and sale champions of similarly bred Hampshire sheep, and in a short time, we should add some Hurricane Hamps to the list! 

 At Hurricane Hamps, we strive to produce the complete Hampshire sheep.  We want:

• Big framed, fast growing, thick made Hampshire sheep.- (No exotic/ extreme hard do-errs)
• Eye appealing, long necked, long bodied sheep- we expect at least 50% hindsaddle on our Hampshires!  (Short bodied, dumpy's are no-no's)
• Structurally correct, sound, good built Hampshire sheep.  (Build them from the ground ---> up!)
• Acceptable Hampshire breed type.  (Hamps that look like Hamps!)
• Ewes that are productive, have longevity, and reproduce/ Rams that are fertile, aggressive breeders, and reproduce.  (Brood ewes & Stud Rams-- no throw-aways!)
• Spider free, Scrapie Resistant Hampshire sheep. 

How do we breed that kind of sheep?  Selective and intense line breeding and genetic selection!  With breeding principles such as ours, we insure genetic prepotency not just for us, but also for our investors!   We can confidently say, "We produce sheep that work for you-- not visa-versa!"
